at the Flintridge Riding Club, 4625 Oak Grove, La Canada Flintridge
Huntington Hospital, located in Pasadena California, is a
604-bed, non-profit community hospital with more than 2,900 employees,
800 direct service volunteers and 816 physicians. The hospital provides
a full complement of acute medical care and community services.
Huntington hospital is affiliated with Southern California Healthcare
Systems. It is a teaching facility affiliated with the University of
Southern California School of Medicine
Founded in 1892, Huntington is the only hospital in California's San
Gabriel Valley with the highest-rated level of experience and technology
in perinatology, neonatology, pediatric intensive care and comprehensive
infertility treatment.

Volunteers of the Flintridge La Caņada Huntington Hospital Guild perform many functions for the Hospital. In addition to volunteering at the Hospital Gift Shop, our volunteers are welcome to operate as volunteers in other areas of the Hospital. The Guild, through its various fundraising efforts, raises money to purchase needed equipment for the Hospital. Our largest fundraiser is the Annual Children's Horseshow held at the Flintridge Riding Club each Spring. Read more about the Children's Horseshow below.
Attend 1 Annual Review Meeting:
Attend monthly meetings
TB Test annually for every volunteer
Volunteer hours at Huntington Hospital Gift Shop
(One 4 hour shift per month, on a Wednesday)
Help out at the Children's Horse Show each year.
Every new Volunteer must have two TB tests in the first year. After
that, it's only one test per year. This year everyone will
be tested in October. Here are the dates:

About Our Annual Children's Horseshow
The Flintridge La Caņada Guild's Annual Children's Horseshow is the oldest children's Class A show in the nation. Riders come from across the US to compete, show their horses, and meet the requirements for later participation in the Olympics. The dates for 2008 are April 25 through April 27th. Admission to the horseshow is free. There are lots of food and drinks. Proceeds go to Huntington Memorial Hospital to support the many projects and programs of the Guild. With proceeds from last year's 86th Horse Show, the Guild satisfied it's obligation to purchase an ECMO machine for use in the neonatal department. ECMO is an acronym for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and is essentially a heart-lung machine for newborns.
The Horse Show is Open to the Public - No Admission Fee
Friday Evening April 25, 2008-5:30 P.M. TO 8:30 P.M.
Wine and Micro-brewery tasting with live music featuring
the Lance Cosgrove Band. Hearty appetizers will be served along with a
selection of wine and beer.
Ticket price: $20.00
Saturday Night April 26, 2007 - 6:00 P.M.
